Home and on the way

In christian spiritual tradition we have both Peregrinatio pro Christo, the challange to always start anew on a continous wandering in a roadless landscape, that is to follow Christ. On the other hand we have Stabilitas loci, the faithfulness towards the already given, to grow roots where I´ve been placed. This tension is always there and is needed for the balance.
Some choose one of these and that leads to either restlessnes or stiffnes. (peter halldorf- helig rot).
How true this is. My prayer is what is what? What is worth fighting for and what must be left behind?
